AEW Double or Nothing 2021 Predictions
Things could theoretically change since there is an episode of Dynamite tonight before the PPV on May 30, but the show seems pretty set. Looking forward to this AEW event as usual so I thought I'd write something for it!
Buy In: Serena Deeb versus Riho
Prediction: Riho becomes the new NWA women's champion
Back in February Riho defeated NWA women's champion Serena Deeb in the first round of the women's eliminator tournament. Looking forward to them running this match back but not looking forward to Riho having to be part of NWA's current product if my prediction is correct!
Stadium Stampede 2: Pinnacle versus Inner Circle
Prediction: Pinnacle wins and the Inner Circle are forced to disband
I'm not confident in my prediction for this one. A summer of violence between the two factions could be good, but I also want Santana and Ortiz to start doing their own things and become tag champs sometime in the next few months. Also it would make sense for Sammy Guevara to face MJF even after the Inner Circle is no more.
Sting and Darby Allin versus Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page
Prediction: Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page win
I think Sky and Page should probably win this one. The matches / series of dangerous stunts between Ethan Page and Darby Allin in the coming months will be fun to watch. Pretty much nobody would have watched their feud in Evolve so it's cool they will get to do it in front of a bigger audience.
Miro vs. Lance Archer
Prediction: Miro wins
I predict that Miro will retain his TNT championship. There is part of me that thinks Lance Archer has a chance though Miro has been so great lately that I want him to have a decent run as champ.
Cody Rhodes versus Anthony Ogogo
Prediction: Anthony Ogogo defeats the American Dream / Nightmare
So far in AEW Cody has always lost when he should and this one feels like he should. Not sure where the Factory would go from here if Ogogo were to lose so he is my pick.
The Young Bucks versus Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston
Prediction: Will be a great match that the Young Bucks win
Build has been great, match will be great. Love the paring of Moxley and Kingston and their renewed friendship really works for me, but it's not time for the Bucks to lose.
Adam Page versus Brian Cage
Prediction: Page defeats Cage
I'm not sure when Hangman Adam Page will be dethroning Kenny Omega however I do think he will be going over Brian Cage this time.
Casino Battle Royale
Prediction: Christian Cage is the last man remaining
Since they set up Christian Cage versus Omega a while ago and this is for a shot at the AEW world championship this seems like Christan's match to lose. The interactions between Dark Order and Hardy Family Office / Nightmare Family and the Factory should be good too!
Hikaru Shida versus Britt Baker
Prediction: Britt Baker wins the title using the Lock Jaw submission
Though Shida has had a lot of fun matches in her year long reign it is Britt's time. Their first match in the early days of the pandemic was really good and I have high hopes for this match.
Kenny Omega versus Orange Cassidy vs. Pac
Prediction: Kenny Omega retains
No way Kenny loses this one but the match should be really great!
