Yay for Feeds!

RSS / Atom feeds are great. Like podcasts? Thank a feed. Don't like lock-in to proprietary platforms on the web? Thank a feed.

RSS and Atom feeds are two ways of doing the same thing. Giving the user the latest content from a website / podcast / other thing. But what makes these feeds so awesome you ask? It's simple, they are open standards. Anybody can use them, whether for their original intended purpose or some other crazy purpose.

While proprietary social media companies have taken over a lot of the web RSS remains widely used thanks to popular software such as WordPress having built in support.

There is nothing worse (NOTHING!) than a blog or podcast that does not have an RSS or Atom feed. So make sure your online stuff supports feeds! Oh yes, the feed for this blog can be found below.
